In this short article from the Fierce Health Finance News dated December 18, 2012, we are lead to believe from the headline that things are getting better for hospitals. This article is a perfect example of why you have to read more than the headline. In 2014 with full implementation of the PPACA, Obamacare, hospitals are predicting revenue losses, reductions in staffing and increasing their participation in ACOs. For the author of this article I’m not certain what constitutes bad times ahead. However, the information provided is worth a read and might help us all understand how to manage our business with hospitals over the next two years.
